The North American International Auto Show is a premier automotive event in Motor City for a look at the vehicles that the world will be talking about tomorrow.

The Detroit Automotive Industry has been in the headlines for the past weeks for the massive Federal bailout of GM and Chrysler. Now eyes will turn to Detroit for the International Auto Show which will highlight over 700 vehicle models. The Detroit Auto Show is a premier international event that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to the region. In 2009 the Auto Show in held from January 11 to January 25.

Detroit has had an auto show for over a century, but for the first several decades it was a regional event. According to the NAIAS website, the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) asked why not make the show national in 1987. The North American International Auto Show has become a premier event in the industry. The Detroit Auto Show in 2008 welcomed over 700,000 attendees.

Jonas Brothers Special Concert Charity Preview

Grammy nominated Jonas Brothers will play a special concert at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena on January 18 to help raise funds for the annual Charity Preview.

The 2009 preview takes place at Cobo Center on January 16 from 6-9 pm. The Charity Preview has raised over $77 million for children’s charities in metro Detroit since 1976 Funds raised were used for medical treatments, clothing and support services for kids in need.

Toyota Debuts Battery Electric Vehicle Concept

Toyota Motor Sales, USA will display a battery electric vehicle concept at the auto show. This display at the 2009 North American International Auto Show marks the world debut of this concept vehicle.

Public ShowAccording to the NAIAS website, the North American International Auto Show 29009 is poised to keep pace with 2008, which was a year that featured a total of 58 vehicle debuts, new technologies and head turning designs. They anticipate welcoming over 700,000 attendees and 40,000 industry insiders s for over 2,000 companies. The auto industry comes together to show the latest in automotive technology.

The public show is a terrific way for potential auto buyers to compare vehicle side by side, see what is new in the industry and make plans to purchase a new vehicle. The public show runs from Saturday, January 17 to Sunday 25. Tickets are Adult $12, Senior and Children $6.
